Our Wedding!

May 15, 2022 in Wedding

Happy first anniversary to us!!

Time sure does fly! It’s crazy that it’s been ONE YEAR since our dream day! I’ve been meaning to share this post for, well, a year, so what better time than our anniversary?!

Bear with me, this is a long post, because I am obsessed with every detail of our day!

First off, major shout out to our wonderful vendors! We couldn’t have had this amazing day without our dream team!

Planning: Carly Marie Events; Photography: Lindley Battle Photography; Venue: The Holt House; Catering: 1618 on Location; Cake: Regi Originals; Florals: Green Bee Floral Designs; Dress Shop: Bellissima; Dress Designer: Anne Barge; Videographer: Ian C. Dunne; Band: The Root Doctors; Tuxes: The Black Tux; Bowtie: Brackish; Invitation Suite: Lana Dreams Wedding; Hair & Makeup: Updo’s Studio; Rentals: The Prettiest Pieces

As soon as we got engaged, we were so excited to start planning! I knew I wanted a wedding planner and began talking to different ones. Carly and I clicked immediately and I knew she would bring our vision to life! Planning a wedding during a pandemic caused us to change our venue TWO MONTHS before the big day, but we couldn’t have made a better decision; Carly and the Holt House made this a seamless transition!

I’ve always dreamed of having a quintessential Southern wedding, and The Holt House made for the perfect backdrop and backyard venue. Ruffled blog featured our wedding as “the ultimate chic take on a summer soiree!” You can check out that post here!

One reason we picked a May wedding was because I had to have peonies! Green Bee did a fantastic job incorporating peonies and using a variety of different florals. Also, if you know me, you know I love pink, gold, blue, and white. Carly and Green Bee helped bring all my favorites in to the details. I mean, just look at and swoon over the below!

Let’s look at some of the details! I searched and searched for the perfect invitation designer because I knew exactly what I had in mind. I found Lana Dreams Weddings on Etsy and she was perfect! I took the esthetic of her design and made my own programs, seating chart, table numbers, bar signs, and guest book to bring it all together.

Taylor and I chose to do a first look, and I thought that was so special! It was a time for just the two of us to be together before enjoying the rest of the evening with our loved ones.

We wanted to do something special to honor my dad, so we had a seat reserved with his pair of cowboy boots. I also had a locket with his picture on my bouquet while my uncle, my dad’s brother, walked me down the aisle. I know he was smiling down from above!

Here’s a look at my something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue!

Old: My grandma’s pearl necklace. New: My dress πŸ˜‰ and shoes! Borrowed: Pearl earrings from Taylor’s mom. Blue: My grandma’s vintage clutch

We couldn’t have asked for a prettier day in May! The weather was a gorgeous and sunny 72 degrees. Burying the bourbon did the trick!

Taylor wanted a special detail for his tux, and found this amazing, intricate bowtie to incorporate into his wardrobe for the day. He also wore his grandfather’s cuff links.

I could go on, and on, and on, and on about everything we loved about the day. Because we loved absolutely everything! Also, one day, I’ll share more about picking out my dream dress. Instead, here are more pictures of the perfect day and us dancing the night away!

Cheers to THE BEST first year and here’s to many, many more!

9 years of Kristie in Carolina and 10 since I made this place home! Life looks a little different these days (hello, two kids two and under πŸ‘ΆπŸΌπŸ‘ΆπŸΌ), and I don’t post as often as I’d like, but I’m grateful for all of you!

This past year brought big milestones: Ellie Kate making her arrival in January, launching @elliegraycreativeco in February, stepping into my role as @juniorleaguews president, to name a few!

Thank you for being here and following along through it all πŸ’› Cheers to another year πŸ₯‚
