Back by popular demand, even if a little late, I’m sharing the books I read throughout 2022 . I love sharing my love of reading and book recommendations, so I hope you enjoy!
I read 42 books over the course of the year – I just counted my list and this blew me away!
Below, Iβve loosely categorized the books I read throughout the year. I think I did a better job going outside of my normal “chick-lit” genre, but don’t worry, that’s still plenty of what I read! π

Beach Reads
Nantucket Sisters – Nancy Thayer
South Carolina Sunset Series #4 The Inn at Seagrove and #5 The Wedding at Seagrove – Rachel Hanna – Quick, fun, easy reads!
The Hotel Nantucket – Elin Hilderbrand – Beach read with a bit of a ghost story.
Chick-Lit
Honestly, SO many could easily fit in this category, but the few here are the books that I felt didn’t fit great in any other section.
Everyone Worth Knowing – Lauren Weisberger
Just Haven’t Met You Yet – Sophie Cousens – This could fall under romance also, but it was a fun story with an underlying love storyline.
The Bodyguard – Katherine Center – Another that really could be a romance, but it was like reading my favorite rom-com in a book! It might take the top spot as my favorite book of the year! Read my full review here.
Colleen Hoover
I jumped on the Colleen Hoover train, and she gets her own category!
Confess – Drama. I liked this plot line – I thought it was unique!
It Ends With Us – Drama and tugs at your heartstrings!
November 9 – Romance, but not a favorite.
Reminders of Him – Family story mixed with a romance plot line. Started a little slow, but I ended up liking it.
Ugly Love – Easily my favorite of hers! Romance, but also dealing with past hurt. I sobbed!
Verity – CRAZY. If you’ve read it, you know there’s no other way to describe it!
Drama
There are some mysteries/suspense mixed in here as well!
Luckiest Girl Alive – Jessica Knoll – Traumatic and turned in to a Netflix movie.
Reckless Girls – Rachel Hawkins – I don’t recommend this one. I felt like I waited the whole book for something to happen and then the ending was a little dumb.
The Golden Couple – Greer Hendricks – suspenseful and I couldn’t put it down!
The Last Flight – Julie Clark
The Last Thing He Told Me – Laura Dave – suspenseful!
The Lion’s Den – Katherine St. John
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo – Taylor Jenkins Reid – Honestly, one of my least favorite books of the year. Not a popular opinion, I know!
Family, Friendship, & Connection
One Italian Summer – Rebecca Serle
The Wish – Nicholas Sparks – This could fit in to romance as well. As always, Nicholas Sparks brings me to tears!
Historical Fiction
The Wedding Veil – Kristy Woodson Harvey – I was able to meet Kristy at her launch party! Check out my full review of the book here.
Holiday
A Seagrove Christmas – Rachel Hanna – This is book #6 in the South Carolina Sunset series, but is set at Christmastime.
Snowed in for Christmas – Sarah Morgan – Cute story about a family and one stranger who, you guessed it, are snowed in for Christmas.
Romance
Central Park Pact Series – #1 Passion on Park Avenue, #2 Love on Lexington Avenue, and #3 Marriage on Madison Avenue – Lauren Layne. I absolutely LOVED these! Lauren Layne is a romance writer, so there are a couple steamy parts to the books, but the stories are so fun to follow!
Book Lovers – Emily Henry
Every Summer After – Carly Fortune
Hot and Hammered Series – #1 Fix Her Up, #2 Love Her or Lose Her, and #3 Tools of Engagement – Tessa Bailey – Romance series where I loved the first and third books, but was a little bored by the second one.
It Happened One Summer and Hook Line & Sinker – Tessa Bailey – Fun mini romance series that follows two sisters. The storyline is inspired by Schitts Creek!
Lease on Love – Fallon Ballard – so cute!
Meant to Be – Emily Giffin – Drama and romance inspired by JFK Jr. & Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy
The Homewreckers – Mary Kay Andrews – Romance with a murder mystery!
Wedding Belles Series – #1 To Have and to Hold, #2 For Better or Worse, and #3 To Love and to Cherish – Lauren Layne. Again, I loved this Lauren Layne series! It is hard to choose a favorite between this series and the Central Park Pact.
Self Improvement
Leading with Dignity – Donna Hicks – This book was what our Junior League training was on this last fall. Overall, the message and training is great. However; I found this book very hard to get through due to the amount of sources the author used in it.
There you have it – 2022 in the books! I don’t typically set a goal for how many books I am going to read in a year, but I have a feeling 2023 will be a slower year for reading because we just got our sweet puppy, little miss Daisy Mae!
